Award Books: (Theodor Seuss) Geisel Awards

"The Geisel Award is given annually to the author(s) and illustrator(s) of the most distinguished American book for beginning readers published in English in the United States during the preceding year." -- ALSC Geisel Award


The Columbus Center IRC Geisel Award collection includes the winning title and selected honor books from 2006 through 2010. These books have a call number beginning with Col Geisel plus the year. For example, the 2010 Geisel Award Book is Benny and Penny in the Big No,No! by Geoffrey Hayes and it's call number is COL Geisel 2010. Part of the IRC circulating collection, juvenile award books circulate for a period of three weeks with four renewals.
